1. Wash your face with a suitable cleanser
Washing with just water cannot remove all the oil and dirt on the skin. Using a facial cleanser helps eliminate sweat, deeply clean dirt, impurities, and dead skin cells. This prevents skin problems, especially acne. Clean skin also allows nutrients in whitening creams, moisturizers, and other products to be absorbed more effectively.
Choosing the right cleanser is very important: opt for a gentle, fragrance-free formula. In addition, you should only wash your face with cleanser twice a day, lather it before applying, and avoid rubbing the skin too harshly.
2. Exfoliate regularly
Dead skin cells on the surface make the skin look dull, rough, and lifeless while blocking nutrients from skincare products from penetrating deeply. Beauty experts recommend exfoliating regularly, about 1–2 times a week, to remove aged cells and regenerate new ones.
3. Apply sunscreen daily

Summer is the time to strengthen skin protection against UV rays. Common shielding items like masks or sun-protective clothing cannot fully protect the skin. Therefore, applying sunscreen daily is extremely important—even on cloudy days or indoors—because UV rays are always present.
There are many types of sunscreen available to suit different needs. If you have oily skin, choose lightweight formulas with good oil-control properties.
4. Keep your skin moisturized
People with oily skin, especially in summer, often think moisturizing is unnecessary since their skin is already shiny with oil. This is a misconception. Excess oil production often happens because the skin lacks water and moisture, prompting the body to secrete more sebum to balance hydration. Using the right moisturizer helps regulate oil levels and improves overall skin health.
5. Use face masks regularly
Facial masks provide essential nutrients, allowing the skin to recover, stay healthy, and glow. You don’t need expensive masks—simple natural options like cucumber, aloe vera, avocado, tomato, or potato, combined with fresh milk or unsweetened yogurt, work very well. Natural masks not only help prevent acne and improve sunburned skin but are also less irritating, making them suitable for normal, oily, or sensitive skin.
6. Drink plenty of water
Hot weather causes sweating and skin dehydration. That’s why it’s important to drink about 8–10 glasses of water daily to stay hydrated and keep skin smooth and healthy. You should also add fruit juices, coconut water, and water-rich fruits and vegetables to your diet.
7. Pay attention to your diet
Daily nutrition greatly affects both health and skin. Oily, fast, or sugary foods not only cause weight gain but also contribute to acne and premature aging. Instead, focus on fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to nourish smooth and radiant skin.
8. Exercise regularly

Physical activity benefits both health and skin. Exercising for about 30 minutes a day improves blood circulation, keeping your skin glowing.
However, avoid outdoor workouts between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. when UV rays are strongest, as this can damage the skin.
9. Limit makeup
Thick layers of makeup in hot weather trap oil, clog pores, and trigger acne breakouts.
Therefore, try to limit makeup in summer. If necessary, use lightweight, non-comedogenic, oil-control cosmetics, and apply as thinly as possible. At the end of the day, always use makeup remover to clean your skin thoroughly.
10. Rest and relax properly
Stress, fatigue, and lack of sleep are among the main causes of skin problems. Just one sleepless night or a stressful week can dull your complexion and cause breakouts. Maintaining a healthy routine, good sleep, and a relaxed mind will keep your skin bright and radiant.
